Better User Interface

Overall, the UI looks more polished and provides a better user experience.

Better movie identification

Movies are now identified quicker and with greater accuracy.

Edit/Remove movies

This had been one of the most-requested feature. You'll now be able to edit incorrect entries and remove movies from Movie Monkey.

Sort

This was another most-requested feature. You can now sort the movies by title, year and rating.

Multiple genres

In case you wanted to filter only "Romance + Comedy" movies, you can do that now. Just hold down "Ctrl" and select multiple genres.

Speed improvements

The older version was a bit slow when handling a large number of movies. The newer version is magnitudes faster :)

Under the hood, we've migrated from using wxPython to pyGtk+.

A few days back, those of you who signed up early got to test Movie Monkey (v0.9). We're happy to announce a small update. v0.91 goes live today. If you already have Movie Monkey installed, you can download this latest version by using the same download link. What this version brings in:

• Search by Director, Actors (besides Movie title)
• Notification about future updates
• Some bug fixes

Movie Monkey is a simple, light-weight application which automatically identifies your movies and catalogues them. It classifies them according to their genres, downloads poster image, plot-line IMDb rating etc. It also lets you classify the movies into "Watched" and "Not Watched".

And, it has got "Search" and "Play" options which lets you perform the respective tasks without leaving Movie Monkey. You can your movies spread throughout your computer, hard-drive etc. Movie Monkey is "one place to rule manage them all" :)

Forget wading through movies named movie01, movie02. With Movie Monkey, browsing through movies will be better, we bet, than picking up and watching one.

That's just not where it ends. The monkey has got more up its sleeves. ;) Keep watching - code monkeys in the Movie Monkey office are working their ass off to make things better. Ok, enough of my ramblings for now, this is what Movie Monkey looks like:
